View our impactSustainability at Hello Charlie
Sustainability has always been part of how we choose products and run Hello Charlie. For us, it is less about one big statement and more about the decisions we make every day—what we stock, how we pack orders, which services we use and what we can reuse instead of throwing away.
How we approach it
As an online store, we use electricity, receive stock, pack parcels and send deliveries around Australia. The practical question for us is how to do those things more thoughtfully.
That may mean choosing a supplier with clearer environmental information, keeping a strong carton for another order, using less unnecessary packaging or supporting climate projects alongside our day-to-day operations.
We also review the products themselves. A product needs to make sense in real family life—not only sound sustainable in a marketing description.

We have removed older references to our previous electric vehicle, former owner and B Corp plans. These are the suppliers that are relevant to the business now.
Our electricity is supplied by ENGIE, which develops renewable-energy projects in Australia and offers accredited GreenPower products.
We use felix mobile, which is certified carbon neutral, matches its operations with 100% renewable electricity and funds one tree for every month a customer remains with the service.
Packaging
We keep clean, strong boxes and packing materials from suppliers and everyday business use so they can be used again.
A reused box may have old printing, labels or marks on the outside. What matters to us is that it is clean, secure and able to protect the products inside.
Supplier boxes and other strong cartons are kept for future customer orders.
Paper and protective materials are used again where they remain clean and suitable.
When new packaging is needed, we look for certified, recyclable, compostable or recycled-content options that suit the order.
We still use enough packaging to reduce damage and avoid unnecessary replacements.
Around the warehouse
We use recycled printer paper, print only when needed and use both sides where practical.
We continue to use Who Gives A Crap toilet paper in the warehouse.
Equipment and general supplies stay in use while they are still functional, rather than being replaced simply because something newer is available.
Product selection
The largest part of our sustainability approach is deciding which products belong in the store in the first place.
We look at ingredients, materials, durability, certifications, packaging, transparency and whether the product is practical enough for families to keep using.
